Pull tightly on the short end of yarn to close the loop.

The following is worked in short rows.
Row 1 (RS): 1 ch, 1 dc in next 14 sts, sl st in next st, turn, leaving the remaining 9 sts unworked.
Row 2 (WS): 1 dc in same dc as sl st, 1 dc in next 5 dc, sl st in next dc, turn.
Row 3: 1 dc in same dc as sl st, 1 dc in next 7 dc, sl st in next dc, turn.
Row 4: 1 dc in same dc as sl st, 1 dc in next 9 dc, sl st in next dc, turn.
Row 5: 1 dc in same dc as sl st, 1 dc in next 5 dc, place marker in last dc, 1 dc in next 12 dc, sl st in next dc.
Fasten off, leaving the next 5 sts of row 1 unworked.
Stuff the neck and head before continuing.
